Goalkeeping coaches Perrone and Ochotorena talk to VCF Media
Roberto Perrone and José Manuel Ochotorena, Valencia CF goalkeeping coaches, have spoke to VCF MEDIA about the work that they do on a daily basis alongside Gennaro Gattuso.
Perrone is one of the trusted members of Gattuso's coaching staff, having known him since his time at Napoli. He has followed him across several challenges, and now accompanies the Valencia CF coach in his daily work at the Ciudad Deportiva, including specific training for goalkeepers Giorgi Mamardashvili, Jaume Domenech, Cristian Rivero and Iago Herrerín.
Ochotorena is regarded as one of the best goalkeeping coaches in Spain and beyond, and is himself a former Valencia CF player. He has been the club's goalkeeping specialist since his retirement, bar a spell accompanying coach Rafa Benitez at Liverpool in the mid-2000s, and was also part of the Spanish national team setup as goalkeeping coach from 2004 to 2021.
Both work hand-in-hand to prepare the Valencia CF goalkeepers for the demands of LaLiga action, training their reflexes, positioning, footwork and shot stopping.
